The recent retirement of Mary O’Brien as CEO of Irish Landmark Trust was marked with the presentation of a very special oil painting, commissioned on behalf of ILT trustees, past and present. This striking depiction of Wicklow Head lighthouse, the first ever restoration project undertaken by Irish Landmark Trust, is the work of the noted Irish artist, Liz Rackard.
Wicklow Head was chosen to reflect Mary’s unbroken link to the earliest days of the organisation. The painting was presented to Mary O’Brien at a small outdoor gathering, attended by Liz Rackard and Michael O’Boyle (Chairman, ILT). It is hoped to celebrate Mary’s immense contribution to Irish Landmark Trust with a larger get-together once COVID guidelines allow.
