Co-ordinated by The Heritage Council, the aim of Heritage Week is to build awareness about our heritage and encourage its conservation and preservation. The week is all about getting involved, and here at Irish Landmark we play our part by holding an ‘Open Day’ at our properties. All Republic of Ireland properties will be open to visitors from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 25 August. Our House Managers will be waiting to welcome you and tell you all about the properties.
If you just want to sit back and listen, there will be talks on a whole range of topics, from beekeeping, to historical cures, to fairies. Click here for a list of some of the many heritage Week talks happening across Ireland between 17-25 August. There could be something of interest happening just around the corner.
One of the great things about National Heritage Week is that it gives the whole family a chance to share new and exciting cultural experiences together. Whether you are a budding historian, a future artist, or an inspried archaeologist at homes, there’s an event for all heritage enthusiasts to enjoy.
