Nature Escapes at St.John’s Point, Co.Down

Nourish and revive your connections with nature and the natural world. Book a ‘Grass -Roots’ Getaway at Ketch or Sloop at St.John’s Point

Trail the path of a lightkeeper and rest in the comfort of our cosy cottages at the foot of this rugged and remote coastline. Two lightkeeper cottages are available with the potential to accommodate two groups of four. Nestled under the lighthouse’s idiosyncratic black and yellow colour bands, these two cottages offer a very special platform to experience a true sense of remote, where a group of friends or family members can catch up in a unique setting while still maintaining some personal space. A pair of decent binoculars is high on the what to pack list. Very lucky guests have reported seeing a peregrine nesting at the top of the lighthouse and dolphins swimming the adjacent coast.

The schedule you commit to here requires no reminder on your phone. You simply show up, wrap yourselves up in warm blankets, make hot drinks and sit outside. Meetings with the breathtaking sunrises and magical sunsets will certainly not disappoint.

Located mainly in rural, remote areas, Irish Landmark properties share a very special position with nature.  Stay at Wicklow Lighthouse, and visit seal cove; spot the deer at pheasants at Ballealy Cottage, or visit the nearby ‘World of Owls’;  at Knocknalosset House you can birdwatch or search for frogs – of visit Dun na Rí forest park to walk amongst beech and chestnut tree or canoe in Lough Oughter.  Our bookings team is always happy to discuss with you what options might best suit you, your friends and your family.  So call us on +353 1 6704733 or email our bookings team
