Calling all Game of Thrones fans

Game of Throne the exhibition logo scaled 400 wideFor any Game of Thrones fans out there – and we realise there are many – you might be interested to know that there is an exhibition coming up this June in Belfast. The organisers have a useful website with a map to film locations in the province of Ulster. It just so happens that we have lots of tempting properties up North for a special getaway.

So if you fancy getting some real insights into this great show (think visiting New Zealand for Lord of the Rings vistas) you could use any one of the following properties as a base:

In County Antrim we have six properties, Drum Gate LodgeMagherintemple Lodge, The Barbican and Ballealy Cottage and two Lightkeepers’ Houses at Blackhead.

We also have Helen’s Tower in County Down,  Tullymurry House in Newry and Triumphal Arch Lodge in County Fermanagh.

Fans can visit areas like Pyke-Iron Islands (Murlough Bay, Antrim), Tollymore Forest Park (Mourne Mountains, Down), Castleward (Strangford Lough) and the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark (Fermanagh).

The exhibition website has full details of these locations, the place names they are known by in the series and what scenes viewers would recognise the areas from.

Belfast is one of several major cities around the world that the exhibition will visit; others include New York, Mexico, Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Oslo, Toronto and Vancouver.
